The good, the bad and the curious of Yuletide music.

This is rather stupid, but in the best way imaginable. The American band Grandaddy recorded this version of Christmas perennial Winter Wonderland for the compilation album It's a Cool, Cool Christmas in 2000, released in aid of the UK street paper The Big Issue. If I were to make a guess, the rewriting of the lyrics – some sort of tribute to Alan Parsons of Alan Parsons Project fame – were triggered by the reference to Parson Brown in the original lyrics. Either way, I really love this.
Listen to Alan Parsons In A Winter Wonderland.
Or listen on Spotify, where I've created a playlist for this year's Advent Calendar.
The Spotify playlist for all the previous Advent Calendars is here. Note: The playlist is incomplete, as some of my calendar selections are just too obscure for Spotify.
"We can build a snowman and pretend that he is Alan Parsons", indeed.
