Advent Calendar 2023

A version of The Chordettes' Mr. Sandman with Christmas lyrics? Well, why not? This is what Canadian singer Dorothy Collins offers on this 1955 recording. Ms Collins seems to have achieved most of her fame from appearing on NBC TV's Your Hit Parade, but otherwise is yet another of those North American singers who were well-known in their time, but maybe isn't remembered so much today; we featured a couple of other artists of this ilk earlier in this year's Advent Calendar. Dorothy Collins enjoyed two Top 20 hits in the mid-1950s - Mister Santa was not one of them.
