Ever since the Internet turned into a global
phenomenon in the mid-1990s, ABBA have had a strong presence
on the World Wide Web. In 1999, the group's official site
was finally launched.

| In
1998 it was decided that ABBA should have an official website.
I was hired to contribute virtually all the text material on
the site. This meant writing biographies for the group, its
individual members, associates like Stig Anderson, Görel
Hanser, Michael B. Tretow and a number of the musicians who
played on ABBA's recordings. I also put together a discography
based on the Swedish/Nordic Polar Music releases, as conceived
and released by ABBA and their associates when the group was
still active. ABBA - The Site was launched January 18, 1999.
During 2001
and 2002 a lot of work was put into updating the layout and
the content of the site, including my texts. The new version of
ABBA - The Site finally opened again in August, 2002, with a third, re-designed version launching in January 2006. I am still
contributing occasional news items, as well as bi-monthly essays
under the heading In Focus.
