In April 2006, Sirius Satellite Radio in the United States launched a programme for Swedish and Nordic music. And naturally there is a weekly ABBA segment.

In a development that has surprised everybody involved, satellite radio has grown at an explosive rate to become the new big thing in the American media world. Sirius Satellite Radio is one of the main players, and with more than 125 different channels to choose from it is already attracting millions of subscribers. Names such as Howard Stern and Martha Stewart are among Sirius' most high-profile show hosts.

Scott Greenstein, President of Entertainment and Sports at Sirius, had the idea of showcasing Swedish/Nordic music on a special weekly show. Since the days when ABBA first opened the doors to the world, Swedish music has grown to become the third most important player on the international music scene (after the United States and Great Britain). Mainly hosted by former Radio Stockholm DJ Viktor Petrovski and featuring heavy involvement from Per Gessle of Roxette, along with Pelle Almqvist of The Hives as a DJ, Greenstein assembled a strong line-up of contributors to the show. The name of the weekly three-hour programme became Nordic Rox.

Naturally, a show focusing on Swedish pop/rock from the Sixties up until the present should have some ABBA content. Scott Greenstein asked me if I would be interested in contributing a weekly presentation of an ABBA song; in other words, tell the story behind one specific tune. The show launched in April 2006, and if you're a Sirius subscriber - only possible for US residents - you can now hear me talk about ABBA weekly on the Nordic Rox show. The programme is broadcast on channel 18: The Spectrum.

Launched April 30, 2006. Broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 18 (The Spectrum) on Sundays from 8 pm to 11 pm ET (repeat broadcasts on Wednesdays).
