ABBA Gold was first released in 1992 and quickly became a success of astronomical proportions - as of October 2011 total sales exceed 29 million copies. The compilation has been revamped and re-released a number of times, and from 1999 to 2008 I was the author of its liner notes. 

The most recent reissue took place in November 2010, when ABBA Gold was reissued in a Special Edition, containing two discs: the original CD, remastered in 2008, and a DVD of the promo clips, remastered in 2010.

Note, September 16, 2011: At the moment it seems the 1-disc version is not in distribution. I'm assuming this will be the case until the CD/DVD Special Edition has run its course.
